The Mini Mine Field

When entering the garage each Mini received instructions to one of the three events on the top floor. Each team would be back throughout the rally and compete in all three legs.

This leg comprised of white Dixie cups and yellow Dixie cups that were held in place by aluminum plates. This was a timed task in which each Mini had to run over all of the white cups without hitting a yellow "mine". While there was a speed limit of 10mph, it seemed close to impossible to get to 10mph. The cars were allowed to go forward, reverse, and in any route/path they felt would be the fastest. The mines carried a penalty of 3 rally points. Bonus rally points were awarded to the 5 fastest times, while the slowest overall team lost 5 rally points.

The average time was about 3 minutes. The winners, Brian and Gwen, set a blazing time of 54 seconds. (Mice don't try to cross the street in their neighborhood.)

The navigator couldn't do much but sit back and laugh, or cry...
